PwC State of the Internal Audit Profession Study

Global Internal Audit Survey has been performed with the participation of 1,530 people from 64 countries and over 16 different sectors. In addition to internal auditors, the opinions of other stakeholders such as CFOs, the members of the Audit Committee, CEOs have been asked for the first time this year. By this way, the role of internal audit functions regarding their companies and their capacities to support risk management activities have been assessed.

Together with 870 Internal Audit Managers, more than 660 stakeholders other than internal audit have participated in this year's survey and shared their opinions. Moreover, one to one negotiations with 100 Internal Audit Managers on average have provided external perspectives with regard to this Survey.

According to the results of Internal Audit Survey conducted by PwC for the year of 2012 with participation of approximately 50 companies from Turkey, global economic uncertainty was the biggest risk that the companies faced. Almost three out of four from the participants that comprise of 1,530 Internal Audit Managers, the members of Audit Committee and stakeholders have defined the biggest risk as uncertainty.
